Godai Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 2026 (beta tester sign-up section added October 2026)
This privacy policy covers the Android app Godai, developed and published by ThoughtCore ("I", "me"). Godai is built to work without collecting personal information.
Information the app collects
None. Godai has no user accounts, no advertising, no analytics, and no crash-reporting services, and it does not send any personal information to me or to any third party.
Information stored on your device
Godai saves your settings on your phone: music and sound volume, mute, animation skipping, difficulty, and language. This stays on your device. If Android backup is turned on, Android may include these settings in your own Google device backup, which is governed by Google's terms, not mine. I never receive it.
Nearby play (planned feature)
A planned two-player mode connects two nearby phones directly using Google's Nearby Connections, part of Google Play services. To find and connect to the other phone, Android requires Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and nearby-devices permissions, and on some older Android versions a location permission. Godai uses these only to find and connect to the other player while you are setting up or playing a match. It does not record or keep your location. Game moves pass directly between the two phones and are not sent to me. Google Play services handles the connection; see Google's Privacy Policy.
Purchases (planned)
Two-player mode is planned as a one-time in-app purchase handled by Google Play. Google processes the payment; I do not receive your card or payment details. The app checks with Google Play whether the purchase was made so it can unlock the feature. Google's handling of purchases is covered by Google's Privacy Policy and the Google Play terms.
Beta tester sign-up
This section covers the tester sign-up form on this website, not the app. If you sign up at godai.mercybeat.com/join, I collect the Google account email you use on the Play Store and, if you give it, your Android phone model.
Your email is used only to add you to the Godai closed test through Google Play: it is entered into the tester list in Google Play Console, and Google Play sends you the invite. You will only be contacted by Google Play (the invite to the test). The developer will never contact you directly.
Until then, sign-up data is kept in a private Cloudflare database that only I can access. It is not published, shared, or sold. All sign-up data is deleted once testing starts (that is, once the emails are added to the Play Console tester list). You can also ask for deletion sooner, or ask questions, at lucky.bot@mail.grokbot.com.
Sharing
I do not sell, rent, or share personal information, and the app does not collect any. Tester sign-up details are used only as described above.
Retention and deletion
The app sends me none of your data, so there is nothing from the app for me to retain or delete. Tester sign-up details are deleted as described above. To remove the settings stored on your phone, clear Godai's storage in Android settings or uninstall the app.
Security
Because no personal data leaves your device for my servers, there is none for me to secure. Settings stay in the app's private storage on your phone.
Children
Godai does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If the app changes what it does with data, I will update this page and its effective date before the change ships.
